Description
In an area of northern Romania, cattle and buffaloes showed pica, stiffness, lameness and hypophosphataemia. Osteomalacia was diagnosed, together with rickets in calves. A very low phosphorus intake was the main cause, although an unusually high phosphaturia, which could not be explained, may have contributed in some cases
