Description
Clinical features, macroscopic and histological investigations were made of 88 cases of digital dermatitis in cattle. The pathogenic role of spirochaetes and papillomavirus was also investigated. The cases were classified as erosive, strawberry-like or proliferative. Some fundamental lesions were identified. It is concluded that the aetiological role of papillomavirus has been excluded and the pathogenic role of spirochaetes should be investigated further
